The Oasis of Chill will be featured at America's top music and camping festivals again this year
Rapper Kosha Dillz and DJ Groovy Jew hosted more than 100 people for Passover Seders for Shabbat Tent at Coachella Arts and Music Festival. "Dillz, whose rap moniker is a nod to his Jewish heritage, has been partnering with the group Shabbat Tent to host the mini-Seders as part of what he calls “Matzahchella” since 2016," wrote RNS about the seders.
National Coordinator Yehuda Prero is gearing up for a return to Summer Camp Festival. "We are super stoked to return to Summer Camp, and grateful to be included as an official non-profit parter."
"So excited to be back at festivals and connecting with community after two years of missing the vibes and spirit and people," said Jconnect President Josh Kaplan. "I just wish we had 100K dollars so we could do more with our volunteer army!"
"Volunteers can sign up on ShabbatTent.org and if you want to make a real difference, please partner with us," said Rabbi Yonah Bookstein, rabbi for Shabbat Tent. "We are expecting a huge influx of new festival attendees and hope that we can make sure everyone can be hosted."
In addition to Coachella and Summer Camp, Jconnect looks forward to their signature tent at the High Sierra Music Festival over the July 4th Weekend. "HSMF is a festival for people who love music, and who want a more intimate and beautiful festival," said Kaplan, who plans on returning this year to help the team. "It's going to be awesome!"
Shabbat Tent, a non-denomination project, has been providing nourishment and hospitality at festivals since 2000.
